Naza World and Naza Italia 2

This is Naza Italia, the largest Ferrari/Maserati showroom outside of Italy. Unlike the sad, grumpy, selfish Naza World boss, the kind young lady at the reception desk gladly allowed me to take as many photos as I wished. One thing I should ask kau foo when he gets back is how did he manage to start up the engines? probably because they didnt want this young boy to mess up multi-million ringgit exotics. Or maybe because there was no salesperson available to attend to us (one was talking with a customer). So, pics:

The glorious 6 liter V12 engine

Monstrous V8

I wasnt expecting it to be in this dark maroon, but hey... a Ferrari's a Ferrari

These flaps are called diffusers, they help with downforce (those who know form 4 Physics should know how).

And on the way back we spotted this:

Later at night me and my bro "treated" dad to dinner at Shiok Kopitiam in Bandar Kinrara.

I didnt take the camera with me, but the place you see on the home page is where we ate. You should go try it someday. If you love cheese then you MUST order the chicken fettucini (the Italian's kuey teow). My ice-blended vanilla drink with melted caramel was absolutely fantastic. Anyways, it was supposed to be me and bro's birthday treat for dad (his birthday is on the 17th), but unexpectedly dad got up to pay the bill. Probably when he sleeps tonight I slip the money into his wallet... =P

I guess it's safe to say my year end holiday has reached its climax, and now all that's left is school reopening *gasp* and my driving theory test.

Naza World and Naza Italia

Of course, this is what should actually be called "Kajang Home Guarding Duty, Part 2", but that's a bit too long and too unappealing. And besides, the only good thing (and I mean REALLY good) about part 2 was yesterday's trip to Naza World, Naza Italia, and our dinner. Begin shall we?

This, is Naza World. Or to be precise, Naza Automall in Petaling Jaya. The main Naza showroom in Malaysia, and also the largest. This is only one small section of it. It continues further down by about 50 meters, but this is where the expensive marquees are found.

The moment I stepped into Naza World I took this:

Two Audi R8s, Ferraris on the left, and a Bentley Continental GT behind

Where I was rudely shocked to be greeted by a lady who told me no cameras allowed. I was thinking, "WTF?!?!" I asked why and she blabs on saying "Oh, the boss dont allow visitors to take photos, becuase this isnt a motorshow. It's only a showroom, and if you go to other Naza World showrooms it will be the same too."

"F*** it" I thought. Why the hell wont "the boss" let photos be taken? If anything, we are promoting the place for him!  It's counter-productive! No photos = No sharing = Less recognition What's the point of letting visitors come in and see them if we cant take photos to share them with??? Selfish pig.... But that wont stop me....

They are THAT big. Try fitting your hand into the exhaust pipe on your dad's car.

Running in the IOI Mall with jeans

December 16, 1.35 a.m.
The internet's down, the very moment i thought I could reblog again. But never mind, while I wait to get sleepy I think I'll have a recap of my 9-day guarding duty of my relatives' house while they are away on vacation. For those who know where they went, no need to shout it out here k. I'm not the one on holiday, besides I already had my Melaka trip with my family (kinda lazy to put them up here. They're on my FB profile though.)

Dec 12. Eeeeyah, you might have noticed that's the same day I made my previous entry. I was just plain bored I guess. Anyways, its the day we set off for our relative's house in Kajang (you seriously need to try out the Sate Kajang). *Going off topic* In dad's little old black Datsun. It's quite the tough old bird, its already 30 years old and still surprisingly working fine, if you can omit the hot and slightly uncomfortable interior. I used to hate this thing when dad fetched me from school in the hot afternoon. When I'm already worn out from 'working'. When I'm all sweaty. Even on the way back after our Melaka trip, and on the way here in Kajang I rolled up my sleeves because my side of the air con wasn't working at all. The chair fabric isn't really that comfy either. However, I give it maximum respect for being able to drive just fine around KL and on the long trips home. *Back on topic* About an hour into the journey, we had a puncture. Well, not really a puncture, neither  me nor mum could see any puncture marks on the tire. But I discovered a slight gash that went all the way around the tire wall. Thankfully it wasn't a high speed blow out. After changing to the spare we searched the next town (Hutan Melintang) for a tire shop after Bro told me the spare one a had a slow leak too. Once settled, we had a safe trip all the way. Spotted a black Porsche 911 Turbo on the highway. Didnt catch a pic of it though... But here's what one looks like:

*Internet's back*

Dec 13- Got acquainted with my cousin's PS3 and Apple Macbook, my in-the-house friends for the next 8 1/2 or so days. PS3's cool. DAMN cool. Macbook's a bit tricky to use since its a completely different OS from Windows. Cant grip some of the keyboard controls and navigating the lappy well, but for simple internet use Im doing fine. Typing's kinda hard with these big bulky hands on a small keypad. And I keep missing the A key and pressing caps lock instead. tricky tricky tricky...

Dec 14- Nothing much today. Had a power cut late in the evening. i got scared half to death by kau foo's massaging chair. While I was lulling away waiting for the power to come back, the control panel suddenly lights up wtih a beep and the rollers for your back gave one big thump. Leapt out of the chair thinkg "WTF?!?!" until the lights came on and I realised the elecric came back.

Dec 15- Got to meet Gwen and another friend of hers, Josephine at the IOI mall. Its quite a series of coincidences. My dad's workshop is in Puchong. She stays in Puchong. IOI mall is in Puchong. Kajang isnt far from Puchong. My dad decided to bunk in here for a few days while the Wira is undergoing repairs so he can drop it off here when it's done for me and mum to go home. While he stayed here a few days, he still goes to work, in Puchong, and I could just tumpang in his car on the way. If any one of these werent coinciding, like say my dad didnt decide to stay here, or he doesnt work in Puchong, or she stays somewhere nearing the Negeri Sembilan border, I  wouldnt have met them. We played bowling, had lunch, walked around a lil bit while I looked for CNY clothes and had some chit chat together. Come 2pm they went back, although I was a bit berat hati because they had to leave earlier than planned. But nonetheless it was a great pleasure to meet them.

Meeting an online friend for the first time in person has always been a special thing for me, because I would only see them sign in on MSN/ Windows Live Messenger, chat online, do some whatever Facebook thing, and thats about it. Chances of me actually meeting them, having them stand right in front of me, actually talking using our voices and not our fingers, is almost next to none. The thought and feeling that, "Gosh, just clicking the Add as Friend Button has come to us actually meeting", is something I've only experienced 3 times before. But Gwen's the first friend so far I've met who's from outside Sitiawan. That's something extra special. Each and every online friend that I get to meet will always be memorable, and so was this one, because these chances come few and far in between. Who would've thought that one year after some girl randomly found me on a badminton group on Friendster, I would be playing bowling with her and her schoolmate. The world is just awesome. Imran, Bob, Tharini, you 3 are next on my wanted list.

Aaaaanyways, then I continued looking for clothes. The hard part came looking for jeans. I've never owned a pair, so I figured why not try one for CNY next year. I usually wear slacks and cargo pants fyi. I never knew jeans had so many different cuts, straight cuts and bell bottoms and something carrot. No wonder so many of the jeans wouldnt fit. Finally thanks to the young man (Jeez I forgot to ask his name) at KK Jeans (1st floor, just outside Jusco), he found me a suitable, affordable pair of straight cut jeans. I didnt know jeans fabric was so thick, and some were ridiculously heavy, but the one I got was okay.

I was supposed to be finished at 4, but I only found my jeans at 3.45, plus 15 minutes for the man to cut them to length. I figured I could go search for a shirt just in time, but in the end I was 10 minutes late. o.O Luckily dad didnt mind extending his time a little, but after rushing out with my new shirt and quickly claiming my jeans I ran alllll the way from the shop, out of IOI to the bus stand where dad picked me up and here I am. And just in time too because the traffic was getting heavy and before I could change back my clothes, a thunderstorm came by. ~Phew~

Will be updating this weekend when *very very very hopefully* I get to go with dad and bro to Naza World!!!!!!! (Its a supercar showroom) 16th Dec, 4.30am. Signing out.

Ooookay, things arent so fast around here....

Well.. its the holidays... barely any activities going on.... the most being just badminton-ing with friends, and studying the driving theory stuff for my license next year... My blog's kinda dull now aint it? Maybe because Im not a random kinda blogger... not like maybe say Shuwen. Yeah, she can blog about anything under the sky.... Example; Spongebob, her dog, Spongebob, some stuff in school, spongebob, ranting, korean/taiwan artists, and spongebob. Or I think i saw on facebook it's Fairly Oddparents now.... That's why her blog has so many visitors and is already quite popular (that's what I think). I wonder how some people can blog so randomly about absolutely anything... I'm not a random blogger... infact there isnt much randomness for me to blog about... or maybe it's just because I rarely get the mood or urge to blog about something.... I could blog about how much I love my phone for example. thats random. but that's also kinda show-offy and boasty. Not exactly a nice impression to leave on anyone who reads it... I blog about major things like big events or uncontrollable feelings, but thats about it I guess.

I probably COULD randomly blog stuff, just to keep my blog fresh, not like now, dusty and cobwebby (cough cough). Maybe I should widen my scope of bloggable things around me.. because since i was small mum taught me not to be bothered about small unimportant little things. I guess that's already hardwired into my system.

Whaddya think fellas? more random blogging?

Gran Turismo Skills Online Test

I just found this from the Gran Turismo fan page on Facebook. Its a series of tests (not just normal question answering tests) to see how good of a Gran Turismo player you are. Me being a true car nut, I went to take it. Here's my result (nicknamed RigerZ):

http://eu.gran-turismo.com/gb/products/gtpsp/skills/

At the time I took the test, there were 353105 scores, and my score is ranked #51006. With a bit of calculation....

15/100 x 353106 = 52966

So the top 15% of all scores reaches rank #52966. Im rank #51006. Cool eh? ^^

The Short Story of Mr, Mrs and Ms Wong

Mr and Mrs Wong had met while they were working in England. Then, Mr Wong was working in the navy in Portsmouth, while Mrs Wong was a nurse in a hospital not too far away from Chelsea. They later shifted back here to Sitiawan. Currently Mr Wong is the project manager at the Lumut dockyards in charge of ship repairs. I didnt manage to ask about Mrs Wong though.... They have a daughter, Su Ling (not sure of the spelling) who was born in Singapore.

Su Ling picked up badminton at age 12 and started going for training. Her coach remarked at the potential she had to be a great player. In Form 1, she was entered in the under-18 category (yes, Under-18) of the MSSD Badminton competition. Not surprisingly, she lost in the early rounds. However, the Perak coach, Mr Chong, was impressed with her capabilities and decided to train her. He was based in Ipoh, and his training was held every weekend. Mr and Mrs Wong made a lot of sacrifices to make sure she would be able to attend training each time, whilst keeping up with her studies. When she returned to the U-18 category for real, she won the MSSPK Ladies Doubles title and was a semi finalist in the Ladies Singles. She also scored well in her SPM exams (8As I think) Now she is in Sarawak studying Electrics and Electronics. She represents her university in inter-uni competitions and has won a few times.

Mr Chong's training started to dwindle to the point that he had to quit, and Mr and Mrs Wong then took over in 1999, and set up here in Sitiawan. Mr Chong had been training players since the late 1980s - early 1990s. I joined Mr and Mrs Wong just one year later along with my brother. He left in 2006 when college life beckoned upon him in KL, and that left me (and eventually the only one) to continue training with them right up until today, the last day, from start to finish.

Without their training it would be hard to imagine what I'll be today. I write this short story to show how much gratitude I have for them after coaching me for 9 long years, because they will not continue their training next year onwards. And when you think about it, I've joined a training class that has been running for almost 30 years. That's really something. Their impact on my life is immeasurable. The possibilities of my life's outcome without meeting them in the first place are endless. Just thanking them isnt enough. Neither is writing this short story. I'll definitely be looking forward to their return in the future.

Aiiiiiiiiiiiiiyeeeeeeeeee

I know it isnt really a big deal, I know its nothing worth blogging about but....

I CANT HELP IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Im going to 5Sc1~!!!!!! The very best of the best, top of the heap, cream of the crop in (according to some) one of the best schools in Perak (or just Manjung). Really really sorry to those who didnt make it in, but when I saw the grin on mum's face I knew I'd done her proud, and I'll be waiting for dad and bro to hear this too (not that i think they'll be as excited as me, but as proud as mum). I was starting to get GENUINELY worried when I got 56 for Sejarah and 60 for Moral which put me waaaaaay down the rankings and the top 40 looked out of reach. Thankfully my other 9 subjects pulled me right back up (especially my science subjects) into top 20. I never expected it but I leap-frogged 4 students with only my Physics paper!!!! WOW!!!!!!!!!!

Maths- 91
Eng- 88
BM- 81
Biology- 81
Physics- 78
Chemistry- 77
Accounts - 77
Add Maths- 76
Moral - 60
History- 56

This random thought cropped up in my head...

Sebelum exam, cakap tak mau exam, stress sangat. Semasa exam, cakap mau cepat habiskan. Selapas exam, complain bosan. Apa mau sebenarnya????

For those non-Malay speaking readers: Before exams, you say you dont want them, and you're so stressed. During exams, you want them to finish quickly. After exams, you complain that you're bored. So what exactly do you want????

*When I think about it, it does make sense. Dont you agree?*
